Toasted Pita Chips/Toasted Pita Bread
Threre are 2 ways to easily make pita chips.
1- Open the pita bread and toast it on both sides
2- Cut the pita rounds into squares or triangle, which ever you prefer. They can be bite size or larger, depending on your preference. Fry then in coconut oil until golden; this will only take about 30 seconds. Then remove on a paper towel and sprinkle with sea salt and optional sumac.
These can be used in place of any chips and it a good way to use up your stale pita bread. There are many recipes that call for toasted pita bread.
